Persijn Broersen (1974) en Margit Lukács (1973) create work that is characterized by a quest for the sources of contemporary visual culture. With video pieces that incorporate filmed footage, digital animation and images appropriated from the media they demonstrate how reality, (mass) media and fiction are strongly intertwined in contemporary society. Broersen & Lukács studied at the Sandberg Institute and at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. Their films, installations and graphic work have been shown internationally, including: Biennale of Sydney (AUS), Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam (NL), Centre Pompidou Paris (FR), Shanghai World Expo (CN), CEAC Xiamen (CN), International Filmfestival Rotterdam (NL), Casa Enscendida, Madrid (ESP) and more.

Lotte Geeven (1980) is a multi-media artist from Amsterdam creating tailor-made portraits of sovereign places. These simple portraits with a graphical character aim to envelope the magic of autonomy and explore complex matter & power beyond our control related to a specific place. For example The sound of the earth –a sound recording from the deepest open hole in the planet- is a portrait of the abstract deep earth. Or the work Sovereign -an upside down Jaguar spinning on it’s back in slow motion in an empty parking lot- is an exploration of the ambiguous character of this sovereign location. Her work has been amongst other shown in China, Japan, Italy, New York, The UK, Indonesia, Canada, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. In 2010 Geeven was awarded with the prestigious Illy Prize for most innovative artist.

Rumiko Hagiwara (1979) is a Japanese visual artist based in Amsterdam. Her subtle actions in conceptual art practices suggest people the different angles of perceptions in daily life. She draws attentions to ordinary phenomenon with her subtle sense of humors. These minimal interventions do not add, but rather address and point out the memories that usually pass by unnoticed as our attention is drawn away by the distractions of daily life. By making these subtle and tiny adjustments, she intends to return the viewers attention to these seemingly daily situations. Her art practices are often registered into site-specific installation, photo and video works. She studied at the Tokyo Zokei Uni-versity (BA)in Tokyo (2000-2004), She was an artist in residence at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam (2008-2009), AIR Antwerpen (2013-2014). Rumiko has been working for an individual research project about sense of humors on Asia since October 2012 via several artists in residency programs in Institute for Provocation (IFP), Beijing, Tokyo Wonder Site (TWS), Tokyo and Chinese European Art Center, Xiamen.
